Seminars in Pediatrics: Adolescent Medicine - UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health

Seminars in Pediatrics, jointly provided annually by the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics and the UW Health American Family Children's Hospital, highlights the latest trends in pediatric research and clinical practice. Each year primary care providers, including physicians, nurses, and physician assistants come together to engage in lively lectures and networking with colleagues from across Wisconsin and the Midwest.

Registration is now open for the 2016 UW Seminars in Pediatrics conference, which will cover a variety of health topics as they relate to Adolescent Medicine. Our keynote speaker is Mark Halstead, MD. Dr. Halstead, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School, is the medical director for the St. Louis Children's Hospital Young Athlete Center and the Sports Concussion Clinic.

The conference will be held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center on September 22-23, 2016.
 
Pre-Conference Activities (two options):
 
1) Facilitated American Board of Pediatrics Part 2 Activity – 2016 Pediatric Gastroenterology Self-Assessment will be held at the Health Sciences Learning Center on Thursday, September 22, 2016 (8:30 AM - 11:00 AM). You must register to attend the entire conference in order to be eligible to register for the pre-conference and is only open to ABP certified pediatricians.
 
2) Nexplanon (LARC implant) Training provides hands-on training for insertion and removal procedures, as well as implant localization techniques. This will be held at the Health Sciences Learning Center on Thursday, September 22, 2016 (8:30 AM - 11:00 AM). You must register to attend the entire conference in order to be eligible to register for the pre-conference. The training is open only to MD/DO, NP, PA or CNM's and Residents authorized to perform the procedures entailed in the insertion and removal of NEXPLANON in the jurisdiction where they practice.
