Immigrant and Refugee Health - May 4, 2017
Children of immigrants are the fastest growing population of children in the United States and have contributed to the entire growth in the nation’s child population over the past decade. Immigrant families are racially and ethnically diverse, and immigrate for variety of reasons that may include seeking economic opportunity, reuniting with family, fleeing war or violence. How can primary care clinicians best address the unique needs of these children?
Adolescent Health - October 5, 2017
As your patients get older, the stakes get higher. Mental health disorders, substance use disorders, reproductive health, diligence in maintaining updated immunizations, the complexities of patient confidentiality - primary care physicians are often the safe and trusted experts to help adolescents make healthy decisions. We’ll explore how teens also can teach providers about effective communication, and how you can work together as they transition from pediatric to adult care.
Abstract reviewers will make the final selection of topics for presentation. Notifications will be made through email; please make sure your email address, and that of your co-presenters, are correct on the submission form.
