The Department of Health Services has selected Michael Heifetz, the state's budget director, to take over for Medicaid Director Kevin Moore, according to a Tuesday statement.
Moore, administrator of the Division of Healthcare Access and Accountability, is leaving DHS for the private sector. His resignation takes effect Friday at noon. Heifetz plans to begin Oct. 3.
"Kevin Moore has been an outstanding leader in the agency, and we wish him well as he moves on to his next chapter," DHS Secretary Linda Seemeyer said in a statement. "We look forward to working with Michael Heifetz, who brings extensive experience in budget, finance and healthcare. He will be a great asset for DHS, and the people of the state of Wisconsin."
Heifetz has served as state budget director and division administrator of executive budget and finance at the Department of Administration since 2013. Before that, he was vice president of governmental affairs at Dean Clinic and SSM Health of Wisconsin for 11 years.
