Mental health problems are frequently seen in pediatric practice. Pediatricians often report they are ill-prepared to recognize and appropriately treat the broad spectrum of mental health diagnoses that can present between birth and young adulthood. Tragic national events involving teenagers with mental health problems have placed even more emphasis on the need for improvement of our mental health system for children and adolescents. Mental Health, therefore, remains a strategic priority.
