The deadline for nominations for the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation’s prestigious Superhero of Medicine Award and the Champion of Veterans’ Health Award is November 1, 2019. Both of these awards come with a donation to the Wisconsin charity of the physician’s choice.
Superhero of Medicine Award: This award is given annually at the Foundation annual dinner during the Wisconsin Medical Society Annual Meeting to a Wisconsin Medical Society member physician who has been involved with a Foundation supported program now or in the past and who is dedicated to making a difference to improve health in their community or in the state of Wisconsin by going above and beyond the call of duty to increase health literacy, access and awareness concerning important health issues in their community or in our state. Champion of Veterans’ Health Award: This award is given at the Foundation annual dinner during the Wisconsin Medical Society Annual Meeting to a Wisconsin physician who is working to improve the lives of veterans in Wisconsin. The award comes with a contribution to the non-profit serving Veterans of the recipient’s choice. In addition to recognizing the outstanding contributions beyond the clinic of physicians, the intent of the award is to highlight the health needs of veterans in our state and raise awareness of programs that are serving veterans.
