A provider notified WIR staff about an issue with the pneumococcal childhood series which incorrectly forecasted an additional PCV13 dose after a child received their 2nd dose at 24 months old. According to ACIP, a child does not need additional doses of PCV13 if one was administered at age 24 months or older (reference). We have updated the pneumococcal schedule for children in WIR so any child that receives a dose at 24 months or older will no longer have additional PCV13 doses recommended within the forecaster and be marked as complete for the pneumococcal series.
