The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is pleased to announce that through the generosity of the AAP Section on Administration and Practice Management (SOAPM), three $1,000 scholarships will be available for Residents and Fellowship Trainees to attend the AAP 2020 first-ever, virtual National Conference and Exhibition (NCE) this October. There will be up-to a total of three (3) $1,000 scholarships available (Residents and/or Fellowship Trainees).
BACKGROUND:
Historically there has been little or no preparation in residency programs on the business aspects of pediatric practice. To enhance existing efforts in educating young physicians on key practice management issues, since 2013 SOAPM has offered scholarships to Residents and Fellowship Trainees who have an interest in practice management to attend annual AAP National Conference and Exhibitions.
REQUIREMENTS & LOGISTICS:
- Eligible candidates: Current AAP Residents and Fellowship Trainees and who are members of SOAPM.
- What is covered: Conference registration and $1,000 check* (*check for $1,000 will be issued following the Conference and in receipt of Practice Management-Related Activity Report).
- Recipient requirements: Must attend the live SOAPM Section H-Program (Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM Central Time) or view the Program on-demand, as well as at least 3-4 practice management-related sessions. Scholarship recipients will also be required to apply the information received by participating in an activity of the recipients choosing and submit a Practice Management-Related Activity Report. Written report must be completed no later than December 31, 2020.
